The Eagle Obsession is a cinematic odyssey by filmmaker Jeffrey Morris, tracing how the Apollo era and visionary science fiction of the 1960s–’70s ignited a generation of dreamers. At its heart is the Eagle Transporter—SPACE: 1999’s iconic spacecraft—symbol of a bold, humanistic future.
Opening with a reimagined “Fly Like an Eagle,” Morris journeys from Arizona to Denmark, Pinewood Studios to Kennedy Space Center, meeting astronauts, actors, engineers, and fans whose lives were shaped by the Eagle’s vision.
Featuring William Shatner, Barbara Bain, Kevin J. Anderson, Dr. Sian Proctor, Apollo 16’s Charles Duke, and Oscar-winning VFX artists Brian Johnson and Bill George, the film weaves original effects, archival treasures, and intimate stories.
From a moving gathering featuring Bain and a neuroscientist she inspired, to 5th graders building their own Eagles, Morris delivers a heartfelt meditation on memory, imagination, and the belief in a better tomorrow.
