Black Rabbit

Jason Bateman, Laura Linney, Ben Semanoff, Justin Kurzel

Jake (Jude Law), the owner of the Black Rabbit restaurant and bar, floats from back-of-house to front-of-house with confidence, knowing everyone’s name and drink order. His short-term goals are a glowing review and Michelin star, though his larger plan is expansion.

His poise and intentions are tested when his ne’er-do-well brother Vince (Jason Bateman) returns home. With Vince comes debt, trauma, and drama that are set to impact his brother’s plans for the Black Rabbit.

Jake’s carefully crafted operation begins to show cracks, raising red flags for his famous business partner and investor Wes (Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù), a rising musician with his own reputation to protect. As Vince’s livewire approach to life catches up with him, Jake is pulled into his orbit of mayhem, and the brothers begin to test the limits of what it means to run a family business.

Co-created by Zach Baylin (screenwriter of King Richard and The Order, TIFF ’24) and Kate Susman (The Order), this limited series has a pulsating energy that reverberates throughout the Black Rabbit and the characters who call it their second home. Featuring directorial turns from Bateman, his Ozark co-star Laura Linney, Ben Semanoff (Yellowjackets), and Justin Kurzel (The Order), each episode sinks us further into the pressure cooker of New York nightlife. As the walls close in and the tension rises, the Black Rabbit becomes the eye of the storm — the perfect place to nurse a drink and consider one’s choices, before they finally catch up with you.
